Thai New Year

I usually don't like to paint from a photo unless it is work, But this pic had some fun lighting and color. Although it is real easy to paint warm color, sometimes it can still be fun. 3 hour color study.

this painting got deleted by mistake so it is back. I have two new ones that I will hold off til next week. I am a big fan of Robb Ruppel's energy to paint in any medium or device, trying new techniques to push us all. He is the man and a good friend. Impossibles Bali

this was painted on location in front of lifeguard stand @ Padang Padang. this is 9"x 12"

Uluwatu Bali

this is one of the best waves on the planet. It has these cliffs that surround the break and give the grand-stand feel. It has shops and restaurants and places to get out of the hot sun. This is an area where you can lay down for a 1hr. message for 10bucks. Not a bad place to relax and enjoy the show. This painting is 24"x 40" and I admit it was difficult to convey the intensity of light. It is so bright there that my little blue eyes needed sunglasses at all times. You may need to get off your couch and take a trip to a place you always wanted to go. For me it was Bali and I created a body of work that is a constant reminder of how lucky I am to experience what I see.

love this break. Best left I have ever surfed. High tide can be tricky getting in with that big ole rock and strong currents.

Chadaka bar

this was a 4hr session with dinner. I love this bar when it is filled with friends. It has good Karma.

I am starting to have fun going on all these dates with my laptop.

Central Coast

This is a painting I did after my first trip up to Monterey. I was creating my second Disney solo exhibition show and needed a few larger pieces to take up wall space. I felt like this area warranted a bigger canvas at 24''x 40''. It was a rewarding painting to make. It had all the reasons why I love the Californian coast!

Malibu

this is a painting I gave to my mother. She wanted it bad and there was no reason not to let her have it. This is a 18'' x 24'' painted in my studio. I had painted Malibu so often that I had similar color palettes to look at. But it was one I knew how to paint. It was an 8 hr session and I was done.

I took out all the people. They wouldn't sit still. Ha!

Bali monkey's

This is from the book Peck n Paw. The monkeys come out of the jungle and eat the temple offerings. They are the Temple guardians.

Soi 56 in Hollywood

This is a digital painting on my laptop while having dinner. I left out the bartender. It takes 3 hrs and is a fun way to study artificial light.
